Didy Veldman

With 'Umanoove' Didy wants to explore and discover. Develop her theatrical and movement language, collaborate closely with different art forms, work with dancers specifically for each production, avoid to many compromises and create work that is touching, engaging, physical, theatrical, humorous and accessible. She is interested in performing her work in smaller theatres so as to connect on a visceral level to the audiences. She wants to work with highly trained dancers, pushing their boundaries and challenging them to explore each detail. Creating a generous and honest atmosphere in the studio so as to facilitate personal creativity.

Didy is working on a new production with a potential premiere at Dance East in Ipswich Feb '18 and a national tour of 15 performances throughout the UK and Scotland. She is supported by Wayne McGregor his FreeSpace, The Linbury Trust, an anonymous donor, Dance East and South East Dance.
